Nancy Touchet
Dec. 9, 1947 ~ March 15, 2022
Nancy B. Touchet, age 74, of Copperas Cove, passed away at home on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. A viewing will be held from 4-6 pm on Monday, March 21, 2022, at Viss Family Funeral Home, 1614 S. FM 116, Copperas Cove, TX 76522.
Nancy was born on December 9, 1947, in Chicago, IL to Charles and Alice Welch Perkins, the middle of three children. Her father served in the United States Marine Corps which allowed her to spend her youth throughout the United States. Nancy graduated from Santa Ana High School in California in 1965.
In 1976, she met Thomas Touchet and they married on November 21, 1979, in Anahuac, Texas where Thomas was stationed while serving in the Navy. During his service, they moved around and spent time in California, Arizona, Nevada, Washington, and Texas.
Nancy was a faithful wife and mother. She put others before herself and had a fiery spirit like no other. She was small but mighty and wouldn’t take no for an answer. She enjoyed raising her children when they were young, and when they were older enjoyed a long career in retail. Nancy worked several years for Lowe’s Home Improvement in California, Arizona and Texas.
Nancy also enjoyed working in her yard, doing home improvement projects with her husband Tom, tending to her roses, spending time with family, and traveling to Hawaii and the beach whenever she could.
Nancy loved all things Hawaiian and spent many summers there with her mom, aunt, and sisters. In the Aloha spirit we know we’ll see her again soon, so until then we’ll say “a hui hou kakou” (until we meet again).
Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Charles T. Perkins.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 43 years, Thomas Touchet; mother, Bernadette Perkins; children, Angie Weldon and husband, Jessie, Jason Perkins, Jerry Touchet and wife, Stacy, Erik Armstrong and wife, Barbara, Tommy Touchet and wife, Amber, and Amanda Edwards and husband, Jeremiah; sister, Suzanne Wegryn; brother, Chuck Perkins; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
