All-American Chevrolet of Killeen is back as a corporate division sponsor for the 8th annual Five Hills Scholarship Pageant this year.

All-American Chevrolet has been a sponsor of the Five Hills Scholarship Pageant for three years. As a corporate division sponsor, they will have the opportunity to display vehicles at the pageant, according to Volunteer Pageant Director Wendy Sledd.

Five Hills Junior Ambassador Hayley Sawyer approached General Manager Austin Bitner about becoming a sponsor again this year, and All-American Chevrolet was happy to become a sponsor again.

“At the beginning of the year, I would say, when we kind of draw out our sponsorships, what it looks like, you know, this is the ideal program you want to sponsor,” Bitner said. “They do a lot with community service, the scholarships, it’s exactly what we want to team up with, so it’s kind of a no brainer when they came and say, ‘Hey, do you want to be a sponsor with us?’ Absolutely.”

Some of the reigning 2020 Five Hills Royalty had the opportunity to visit the dealership and even sit in a white Corvette Tuesday afternoon.

Five Hills Junior Ambassador Hayley Sawyer was probably the most excited to sit in the car, choosing the driver’s seat of the Corvette owned by Bitner. She was joined in the car by Young Miss Five Hills Elise Fuselier, Senior Ms. Five Hills Dawn Hale, Preteen Miss Five Hills Romella Spitzer and Miniature Mister Five Hills Maddox Tobias for a photo opportunity.

Sawyer said that the Corvette was her dream car. Sawyer has several years before she is of legal driving age but that didn’t stop her from enjoying her time in the driver’s seat.

“That was amazing for me because I just wanted to get in there and drive, and that’s how it felt for me,” Sawyer said.

She said she was so glad for the opportunities like this that being a titleholder in the pageant has given her.

“It’s a wonderful pageant, and I think that the opportunities that they give us in this pageant are unlimited,’ Sawyer said.

Bitner said that he knows how important sponsors are to programs like the Five Hills Scholarship Pageant.

“Growing up, whether it’s sports or different events I was active in, there was a lot of corporate sponsors that helped us out,” Bitner said. “At that age, I probably didn’t know that much about them or their involvement, but now as a parent, having kids, I know how much that helps to rely on people to help out. Giving back to the community, even in the smallest ways like this, I know it means a lot for them and helps a lot and allows them to continue programs like this, which I just think are phenomenal.”

Bitner said that he sees the impact that the pageant and its titleholders make in their community.

“All of the community outreach programs and the community service- there’s way more to it,” Bitner said about the pageant. “Normally, with a sponsorship, it’s kind of a logo on a t-shirt and that’s it. Something like this where it’s just got so much more meat to it is great.”

Sawyer said she was appreciative that All-American Chevrolet had agreed to be a sponsor for another year.

“It means very much to me that they agreed to be our sponsor because it is such a wonderful business, and so many people love to get their cars here, and I’m just so glad that everybody isable to experience this amazing business,” Sawyer said.

The Five Hills Scholarship Pageant will award more than $100,000 in scholarships and prizes to contestants and winners on March 27, 2021. The 8th annual pageant will be held at the Copperas Cove Civic Center, and the first round of contestants will start taking the stage at 1 p.m.
