The annual Daddy Daughter Dance is set to take place this Saturday, March 13, held by the Copperas Cove Youth Advisory Council.
Last year, the event was postponed and eventually cancelled, but will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday at the Civic Center, located at 1206 W Avenue B.
This event serves as a fundraiser for the Youth Advisory Council, and all proceeds will support the council’s future projects and community events for youth and families, such as Movies in the Park.
The YAC is made up of youth in the community who apply and are appointed by the Copperas Cove City Council. The Youth Advisory Council defines specific ways to address youth community issues and also develops activities and programs designed and promoted through the City and the Copperas Cove Independent School District. There are 20 member positions, appointed to two-year terms.
The Daddy Daughter Dance was first held in 2015 and has since grown in attendance as dads bring out their daughters for a chance to spin around the dance floor. The dance provides a great opportunity for folks of all ages to enjoy music, dancing, photos, raffle prizes, games and delicious treats while making countless memories.
Semi-formal attire is suggested but not required. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, all attendees will, however, be required to recognize and follow any social distancing and mask requirements, as established by the State, County, or City and applicable at the time of the event.
Tickets went on sale on Feb. 8 and will be available at the door as well. Pre-purchased tickets are $20 per couple, $5 per additional daughter and $10 per additional dad. Tickets purchased at the event will be $25 per couple, $5 per additional daughter and $10 per additional dad. Cash, check or credit/debit card are accepted.
