Cove community tackles football issue

Football must go on. That is the prevailing sentiment of the dozens on hand for a benefit to help save the Copperas Cove Youth Football League’s tackle football program on Sunday at Dave’s Sports Bar and Grill in Copperas Cove. Many Covites were angered when the announcement to cut youth sports was made and Dave’s Sports Bar and Grill owner David McBride was no different. “I was angry about our city not being able to come through for our kids,” said McBride, but now I’m happy and I was able to put all of that to the side to pull this off with Robert (Troy).”
