Copperas Cove Five Hills baby titleholders work to support infants in need

Special to the Leader-Press

In the Five Hills Scholarship Program, it is a common question, “So, what can the baby titleholders possibly do to support the community?” The answer is simple. Help their own.
Baby Miss Five Hills Berkley Valois is using her cuteness to put out collection jars in the community to help a local charitable organization said Lorianne Valois, Berkley’s mother.
“I chose the Hope Pregnancy Center as Berkeley’s platform because of my experience of losing a child. Berkeley is my ‘rainbow baby.’ She was born 11 months after the passing of my son, Brady,” Lorianne Valois said. “Hope Pregnancy Center is an alternative to abortions and helps woman with unplanned pregnancies. I know what it’s like to lose a child so being able to help woman keep their babies is the least we can do.
“Berkeley is collecting “change for a change.” She has baby bottles set up around Copperas Cove for people to throw their loose change in and donate to the Hope Pregnancy Center. What’s better than a rainbow baby giving woman hope of an non-stressful pregnancy and a beautiful blessing?”
Berkley Valois and her mom pick up the change from the collection jars monthly and Berkley loves retrieving the coins and placing them in the money bag for Hope Pregnancy Center.
Baby Mister Five Hills J. T. Trinidad is also working in the realm of a rainbow with his platform of service being the Coryell County Rainbow Room, chosen by his grandparents, Sheila and Glenn Trinidad.
“We chose this platform for J.T.  to make a difference in the life of the child(ren) involved in a crisis that may involve child abuse or child neglect. Shortly after selecting this platform, we witnessed this happen in a family we knew and that confirmed to us that we made the right choice,” Sheila Trinidad said. “J.T. and his family want to provide peace of mind, well-being, and compassion to those who children in these unfortunate situations.”
The Coryell County Rainbow Room is a 24/7 resource center located within the Child Protective Services offices where caseworkers gather new and essential items for abused and neglected children removed from their homes. The comfort items such as new toys, books, clothing, blankets, and more offer a feeling of security and comfort to these children in need.
