Crawford-Bowers celebrates upgraded facilities

Killeen’s Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home held their grand re-opening ceremony Wednesday, complete with refreshments, tours, and a ribbon cutting by not only one Chamber of Commerce, but three with representatives from Copperas Cove, Harker Heights, and Killeen attending the celebration.
Crawford-Bowers has been around since 1972 and has been renovated before, but they recently upgraded their facilities again, bringing them into the 21st century said Steve Faram, General Manager for Crawford-Bowers. Faram said that the improvements make the facility more comfortable and help them provide better, quality service.
Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home’s chapel can accommodate up to 250 guests. The funeral home offers visitation rooms, a family lounge, and a reception area which offers catering. They also offer the ability to pre-plan everything.
“We have the most modern facility,” said Faram. “But I think our staff is what sets us apart…They’re more caring, more compassionate.”
“We tailor our services to the life a person lived,” said DeCroce, in charge of public relations.
Crawford-Bowers personalizes their funeral services to the individuals. They offer traditional funerals as well as those geared towards being a celebration of life. The staff works hard to make sure that they meet all of a family’s desires and needs.
“When I came to work here 37 years ago, Mr. Bowers told me that if you treat everybody like they are part of your family and treat them like you’d want to be treated, it will work. And believe me, it has,” said Dan Carter.
Delbert Bowers wife, Jean Bowers was able to attend the event and see how the facility that her husband helped start has continued to grow and thrive.
“I’m so glad that I’m able to be here,” said Bowers. “It’s overwhelming and awesome. There’s such a great staff. Dan, and Bobby, and so many have been here for such a long time. They’re special people.”
