Five student-athletes to represent Cove in FCA Victory Bowl games

The start of summer signals a flurry of off-season activity for student athletes. Some are preparing themselves for next year’s high school season, others prepare to take the next step and some are simply putting an exclamation point at the end of their high school careers by playing in an all-star game.
Several Copperas Cove athletes will represent their high school one last time this week in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Victory Bowl games set for this week.
Cove standout pitchers Cameron Johnson and Jaylen Smith will represent the Copperas Cove Baseball team in the 3rd Annual FCA Victory Bowl Baseball game to be held Friday, June 8 at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor baseball complex. First pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m.
Johnson and Smith will represent the Red Team, along with District 8-6A rivals Aaron Krueger of Belton, Tre Martin of Harker Heights and Kaven Jones of Harker Heights. Killeen’s Bo Buckley and Julian Jasmin will represent District 8-6A on the Blue Team. Copperas Cove head coach Dusty Brittain will coach Johnson and Smith on the Red Team
Senior Addison “Addie” Cook will represent the Copperas Cove Lady Dawgs’ softball team. She will represent the Red Team as well, along with Belton’s Bethany Edwards. The 3rd Annual FCA Victory Bowl Softball Game is slated for 6:30 p.m. Friday also at Belton’s UMHB. Midway’s Sophie Wideman will represent District 8-6A on the Blue Team.
Recent UMHB signee, Carleigh Ross, will represent the Copperas Cove Cheer squad as a member of the Red Cheer team. 
Representing the Copperas Cove Football team is senior Bryce Ranes. Ranes will play on the Blue Team with District 8-6A rivals Zarek Roberts of Ellison and Taunty Motu of Harker Heights.
District 8-6A players Marshall Fish of Belton, Dart Smith of Midway and joseph Lowe of Shoemaker will represent the Red Team in Saturday’s 10th Annual FCA Victory Bowl Football Game. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. at Waco ISD Stadium in Waco.
Tickets for volleyball, baseball and softball games are $5 and $5 (students) $10 (adults) for football and will be sold on game day.  The golf tournament will be at Twin Rivers at 11:00 AM on the 4th and 9:00 AM on the 5th. The volleyball game will be played on Saturday at 12:30 pm at University High School, doors will open at 11:00 am. Parking for the volleyball game is free. The football game will be played on Saturday at 6:30pm at Waco ISD Stadium, gates will open at 5:00 pm. Parking for the football game is $5. Baseball and softball will be played on Friday at 6:30pm at UMHB, gates will open at 5:00pm. Parking for both games is free. Game programs and merchandise will be available for purchase. All proceeds go to support the local FCA Ministry. All of the community is welcome and encouraged to come support these local athletes.  
For the volleyball, baseball and softball games, no media pass is required.  Please just show your identification to get in the game.
