Mother’s Day tea party held at Hill Country Nursing Center

Every Mother’s Day, children across the country honor and celebrate their moms.
This Saturday, members of the Five Hills Royalty not only celebrated their mothers, they also celebrated the ladies of the Hill Country Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. 
Members of the royalty presented each of the facility’s 55 female residents with a rose and a hand-made Mother’s Day card. They also made the day even more special by hosting a Royal Mother’s Day Tea at 10 a.m. that morning.
“I wanted to do this because today is Mother’s Day,” said Miniature Miss Five Hills, Naomi Williams (4). Williams came up with the idea for the tea party and her fellow members of the Five Hills Royalty helped make it happen. She wanted to make cards for all of the ‘mommies’ at the facility. Williams said she did it “Because I wanted to help all the mommies.”
Everyone who attended the tea party could enjoy three different kinds of teas and some cookies served by members of the royalty. After the tea party, the royalty delivered roses and cards to the rooms of the women who did not attend the party.
“They made the cards, so I think that is really awesome. It shows their talent, and I love all of the different teacups. The residents were enjoying that and pointing it out,” said Pam Walls, who works with medical records at the facility. “I love it when they come, and the residents look forward to when they come and visit. They come and make everyone smile, and the little bitty ones, oh my goodness, they’re wonderful… [The residents] really love the little babies. The residents really like the little ones.”
The residents enjoyed meeting and chatting with the Five Hills Royalty, especially the youngest members. Many had big grins on their faces as the children showed off the cards they made or handed them a cookie.
“I think it’s awesome…It was nice for them to think about us and include us for Mother’s Day…Occasions like this makes staying here a lot easier for us,” said Dee Dee Musick, a resident. “This really means a lot to us. It just really touches our hearts.”
