Higher fuel prices forcing families to curb cars

The kids are finally out of school but it’s the parents who should wise up now if they want to save money on gasoline and spend it on something fun instead. Average retail gasoline prices in Texas have risen 5.7 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.50/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 13,114 gas outlets in Texas. This compares with the national average that has increased 2.6 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.68/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
