Cove officers compete in Police Games

Five Copperas Cove police officers joined forces with officers from the Killeen Police Department to participate in the annual Texas Police Games, held in Nassau Bay, near Houston. Sgt. Martin Ruiz,
Sgt. Jeremy Alber, Officer Thomas Williams, Detective Brian Bobe’ and Officer Jose’ Cazarez made up the Cove portion of the team, which competed in Open Slow Pitch Softball. “I was the one who wanted to play in the games so I asked all the guys here who play and they all said yes,” said Ruiz. “We play against officers from KPD in league play and knew a couple of them so we asked if they wanted to go to the games and they immediately said yes.”
