Construction of the new Burger King is well under way, and Ampler Burger reps confirmed the new store should be completed by the first week of February.
Nick Boyle, vice president of development and construction for Ampler Burger, said the store’s soft opening will occur shortly after the project is completed.
In the meantime, the company is also focusing on the grand reopening of one of its other 41 stores, its new Temple location, said Matthew Bars, Director of Operations for Ampler.
“We will likely celebrate our grand re-opening of the new and improved Copperas location in early March,” Bars said.
He also shared plans for the management and staffing for the new store.
“I can tell you that our management team for Copperas Cove is fully focused on hiring and training new team members at this time. A majority of our staff (including the managers) from the old store were moved to locations nearby for the duration of the remodel and are now hard at work training new additions that will go back with them upon completion of the project. We plan to have 35-plus hourly team members when we re-open in order to ensure our guest receive the absolute best service from day one.”
Bars encouraged any applicants to apply online at ww.work4bk.com.
As for the grand re-opening in March, Bars shared the company’s plans.
“We will of course go all out on the grand re-opening day and plan to have music, face painters, balloon artist, raffle giveaways, free food samples and a little something special for the first 100 dine-in guests.
“Our goal is to invite city officials and dignitaries for the ribbon cutting to commemorate this awesome event. The remodel of this location was overdue and the work that Nick and his team have put into the design will show Copperas Cove just how much we appreciate the opportunity to serve them.”
Demolition of the former store’s structure began in September 2017, and the new store will have what the company calls its “2020 image,” with a modern interior with soft seating and user-friendly features like USB ports at the tables, Boyle told the Leader-Press in September. The new look will include a variety of seating, to include two-tops, four-tops, and community tables.
