For the last eight weeks I have had the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of reporting news from the inside of the newsroom itself. On assignments I met judges, councilmen, business owners, commissioners, board members and teary eyed mothers, helping them share their story through the pages of the paper. No matter who I came across I gained valuable reporting experience on each and every assignment. This isn’t my first rodeo at a newspaper, 10 years ago I reported news at the Pea Ridge Times for a community of approximately 3,000; a year prior to that I was editor of my high school newspaper. Over the past 10 years I can say that technology has come a long way so that a newspaper can be created faster than it was produced a decade ago.
