Copperas Cove standout defensive end Tyrell Thompson decided now was the time to make up his mind where he would hang his helmet next year. That decision landed him just 200 miles down the road at the Division I program at the University of Houston. “It felt like a really good place for me,” Thompson said about his trip to Houston. “It felt like another home. I went into the film room with the defensive line and I felt like I could play in that type of setting. On the way back home, I talked to my parents about it and they told me if I felt like I was ready to go ahead and commit. Houston has been my top school for a while. I just didn’t tell anybody. I called coach (Tony) Levine on Sunday and told him I wanted to commit.”
