Election Day runs from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. today in Copperas Cove

Voters go to the polls today for the general and special elections for the city of Copperas Cove. 
A total of 690 Copperas Cove voters turned out during two weeks of early voting, which ended Friday. Overall in Coryell County, 1,683 voters cast early ballots.
At least one spot on the city council will be decided today, along with three positions on the Copperas Cove Independent School District board of trustees. 
Candidates for city council include: place 6, John A. Hull, E. Marc Payne and Danny Palmer; place 7, Matthew Russell (incumbent) and Charlie Youngs. 
If none of the three candidates for place 6 receive more than a 50 percent majority vote, according to city ordinance, there must sbe a runoff between the top two vote-getters.
For the CCISD board of trustees, candidates for place 6 include Bob Weiss (incumbent) and Jeffrey Gorres; place 7, Jim Copeland (incumbent) and John Gallen; place 8, Dr. Karen Harrison. 
Voters will also be casting votes either for or against seven statewide propositions, along with Proposition A for the City of Copperas Cove, the creation of a municipal development district (MDD) within the city and its extraterritorial jurisdiction, or ETJ. 
In addition to voting on the statewide propositions, Copperas Cove voters registered outside the city limits and live in the city’s ETJ in Coryell, Lampasas, or Bell Counties will also have the opportunity to cast their vote regarding the creation of a MDD for Copperas Cove.

Gatesville Civic Center, 303 Veterans Memorial Loop.
Evant City Hall, 598 E. Hwy. 84, Evant.
Turnersville Community Center, 8115 F.M. 182, Gatesville.
Flat Community Center, 159 CR 334, Flat.
Oglesby Community Center, 118 Main St.
Copperas Cove voters registered in Lampasas County may vote at Lampasas New Covenant Church, 1604 Central Texas Expressway; or at the Kempner Fire Training Station, 315 Pecan St. 
Copperas Cove voters registered in Bell County precinct 401 may vote at Killeen Fire Station #9, 5400 Bunny Trail, Killeen.
