Local PIOs carry torch in Special Olympics opening

Copperas Cove Public Information Officer Kevin Keller and Copperas Cove Police Department PIO Martin Ruiz attended the annual Special Olympics Summer Games in Arlington. Keller and Ruiz joined Killeen Police Sgt. Sandra Hunt and Temple officer Jeff Fudge in the weekend of events as representatives of the Central Texas Region for the Law Enforcement Torch Run. “On Friday morning Kevin, Jeff, and I took the final leg of the Torch Run into the Stadium,” said Ruiz. “In the evening, Special Olympic Athlete Alex and I carried the torch together for the opening ceremony.
