Charles E. Sluder
Retired Master Sgt. Charles E. Sluder, of Copperas Cove, died on Sunday, February 26, 2017.
He was born on February 8, 1942 in Fort Scott, Kansas to the late Donald and Ada Sluder.
Mr. Sluder proudly served in the United States Army until his retirement, including a tour in Vietnam. He later worked as a mechanic for Hank’s in Copperas Cove. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Betty Gant; brothers, Jerry Sluder and Ronnie Sluder; step-sisters Sandy Mays and Tina Belfield; and best friend William “Sonny” Harper.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Wally Sluder; children, Jimmy Sluder, Dino Sluder, and Scherald LaCosse; 6 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Karen Harper; step-sisters, Dawn Ann Snyders and Vicki Volkman; and numerous other family and friends.
A Graveside service will be held at Noon on Thursday, at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Killeen. Services have been entrusted to Killeen Memorial Funeral Home. Condolences may be left at www.killeen-funeralhome.com
