Lady Dawgs finish 3rd at Bastrop; earn Lowery 700th career win

WYLDWOOD - The Copperas Cove Lady Dawgs volleyball team won 7-straight games to begin the Bastrop volleyball tournament before suffering just their third loss in the last 18 games and only loss of the tournament in the semifinal of the championship bracket against Round Rock Cedar Ridge.
They Lady Dawgs may have had a bit of an adrenaline dump as just two hours earlier, the Lady Dawgs won their 15th game of the season that earned head coach Cari Lowery her 700th career win. Read the full story on Lowery’s 700th win inside the Sports Spectacular in today’s publication.
The lull didn’t last long, however, as the Lady Dawgs swept San Antonio Taft 25-10, 25-17 in the third-place game to close out the tournament and improve to 16-5 on the season.
