Liquor petition team celebrates, prepares for upcoming ballot

With the Copperas Cove city council unanimously voting on Thursday night to accept the 1,748 verified signatures on a petition along with approving a resolution to place the liquor option on the Nov. 8 ballot, the team responsible for collecting those 1,748 signatures took some time to celebrate on Saturday afternoon.
The group held a public celebration at Redneck Tacos, a local establishment in favor of that petition. Entertainment was provided by Andy Gillham and his band, SixKiller.
Mitch Lofton said a few words to the petition team and supporters who gathered.
