Counter tops leader board at Lake Limestone tourney

This month’s Copperas Cove Bass Club tournament was held on Lake Limestone. The club launched out of the Corps’ ramp near the dam and began the tournament at 6 a.m.

At start time for the launch you could not have asked for better weather. The wind was still to 5 miles-per-hour and that lasted until around 9 a.m. when it began to pick up between 5-10 mph. The morning was slightly overcast which also helped the bite. Most members caught the majority of their fish during the early morning hours and then faced a long dry spell between catches.

Limestone, like most lakes in the Central Texas region was higher than normal, but not to the point that the Corps would have to close it. Not too many lakes open right now for a club to hold a tourney on.
