The Copperas Cove Police Department and residents braved the heat and came out to the Hills of Cove Golf Course on Saturday to help raise money and show support for CCPD’s Law Enforcement Explorer Program.
The tournament was started to help raise funds for the Explorer Program, and the costs associated with the cadets and their training. According to the program’s coordinator, Det. William Hughes, on average it costs about $550 each to dress a cadet from head to toe.
The tourney had more than two dozen sponsors and the average sponsorship was about $100, Hughes said.
