It was a cloudy Thursday afternoon and despite the chances for rain, it did not deter many participants from coming out and showing their support for autism awareness.
This year’s event was held at S.C. Lee Junior High School’s Hanke Stadium. Families took part by walking around the track multiple times during the two-hour event. There was also face painting for the kids, a live band and free pizza.
The Walk for Autism was coordinated by the CCISD Special Education office and Copperas Cove High School’s Meet Me in the Middle program.
