More than a dozen professionals shared about their careers last week as they visited Clements Parsons Elementary school for Career Day. Taking the time to refocus, the students, faculty and staff welcomed radio personalities, grocery managers, college recruiters, realtors and emergency responders to share their paths with the students.
“This is a great time to refocus the kids and get them thinking about what they would like to do and the education path they will need to get there,” CPE counselor Kevin Wilbun said. “The kids really enjoyed seeing the helicopter, SWAT trucks and police officers. This gives them an interactive learning experience at the end of the year to make an impact on the kids as they think about their own paths.”
Taking a break from end of year testing and the annual STAAR test, CPE students from kindergarden to fifth grade visited with park rangers, game wardens and the area K-9 unit and received a visit from Air EVAC LifeTeam helicopter. Other aerial demonstrations came from TSTC Admissionas Advisor/Recruiter Don Diaz who excited the classes with drone acrobats to include inverted flying of his drone.
