On Thursday evening, the Fort Hood Spouses’ Club members gathered at The Outpost Texas, located in Preferred Plaza in Copperas Cove, and presented a total of $42,000 in community outreach grants and student scholarships.
One of those local recipients included the Coryell County Rainbow Room, which received a grant in the amount of $750.
The Rainbow Room is a nonprofit emergency resource center on Casa Drive, and is available to Coryell County CPS caseworkers to help abused and neglected children. The facility provides children with clothes, toys, books, blankets and other comfort items to help ease the transition after children are removed from their homes. The Coryell County Child Welfare Board received a check for $500, with this funding to go toward things like bunk beds, food and summer camp for local children.
