Kenneth Eugene Faulkner, 80, passed away at home in Kempner on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Scott’s Funeral Home of Copperas Cove with burial following with full military honors at Smith Cemetery in Kempner. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service on Sunday.
Kenneth was born on January 29, 1936 in Corbin, Kentucky to the late Steely and Edith Mays Faulkner. He joined the United States Army in 1955 and later married Kathleen “Joyce” East on August 10, 1957 in Corbin, Kentucky. Kenneth served his country for 22 years, retiring in 1977 and settling in Kempner in 1979. After his retirement from the military, he started H.I.S. Contractors which is still in operation in Downtown Copperas Cove.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; two brothers; his wife, Joyce and a son, Kenneth Ray Faulkner.
Kenneth is survived by children, Kathy Boyd and husband, James, Karen “Punky” Cheely, Kitty Beattie and husband, Frank, Pat Bernhard and wife, Theresa; grandchildren, Joe Faulkner, Justin Thomas Edwards, Shaun Cheely, Michael Beattie, Crystal Meinert, Kaylyn Boyd, Christina Bernhard, and Justine Bernhard; three great grandchildren; three sisters; two brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.
Scott’s Funeral Home of Copperas Cove is in charge of arrangements.
