On Friday morning, representatives from Texas A&M University Central Texas, W.B. Development and the City of Killeen gathered behind Founder’s Hall at TAMU-CT to make a special announcement, that of the next step in the university’s development.
In January 2015, TAMU-CT announced their first on-campus sport, rugby, and now the team will have its own field, or pitch, located on the campus. The regulation-size field is the first of its kind in the immediate area and is being made possible by donation of time, equipment and resources from W.B. Development and the university’s rugby team, as well as “seed money” from the Killeen Economic Development Corporation.
During the announcement on Friday, university president Marc Nigliazzo talked about what having the sport will mean for the campus.
