Rains wash away preseason finales for Cove baseball

Violent storms swept through area last week and washed five games from the Copperas Cove baseball schedule and the team’s final attempt to prepare for district action along with it.

 

The Dawgs, who open up District 12-6A play against the Killeen Kangaroos tonight in Killeen, were scheduled to take part in the Pflugerville Connally Central Texas Invitational beginning last Thursday but storms swept away at least five games against a challenging slate of opponents.

 

The Dawgs (10-3) were set for contests against Cedar Park, Georgetown East View, Pflugerville Connally, Round Rock Stony Point and Pflugerville Hendrickson but never got in a single game due to the weather.
