RAISING FUNDS

Members of the local community came out to support the Kempner Volunteer Fire Department with its annual live auction and barbecue fundraiser on Saturday. The total money raised was not available by press time.

 

Held the first Saturday of March every year, the event helps the Kempner VFD raise money so that it can continue to provide lifesaving services for its residents.

 

The goal for Saturday’s event was to raise funds to purchase a stationary Containment SCBA fill station, compressor and four-bottle (Cascade) storage system. This is the system that refills the department’s bottles used when fighiting fires.
