Beginners Arduino programming taught at library

Arduino is made of hardware and software that uses a chip to interact with other components. Arduino is like a small computer that can be programmed to do things, and for people to make their ideas a reality. With Arduino, it is possible to perform any number of innovative applications including robotics, games, and for lighting. Some people have used Arduino to create things like a Twitter enabled coffee pot, a wireless animatronic hand, a flame-throwing Jack-O-Lantern, and much more.

 

Central Texas Makers’ Evelyn Nelson saw that there was a need and desire to learn Arduino programming in the area, so Saturday afternoon, she held an Arduino 101 class to give those interested a chance to learn the basics. Nelson’s class  included a breakdown on the basics of how Arduino works. During the class, she helped participants set up their computer, learn about basic codes and how they work, and modify a basic code.
