Altrusa members donate more than $4,347 for books

At the Copperas Cove ISD Board of Trustees meeting on February 9, Altrusa International of Copperas Cove presented a check to the Copperas Cove Independent School District to provide books for first, second and third grade students.
 
Altrusa International of Copperas Cove sponsors numerous service programs throughout the year that directly impact the community. In the past, programs have included purchasing and distributing books to Head Start, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade students in the Copperas Cove Independent School District; collecting and distributing school supplies for students; Blue Santa; Project Graduation; Metroplex Hospital Mother’s Touch Program; holiday gift bags for single moms, Children’s Advocacy Center of Central Texas; Grace Methodist Backpack Ministries; Ronald McDonald House, providing recreation and large print reading material for local nursing home residents and awarding scholarships to graduating seniors.
