Bulldawgs win opening track meet in Waco

WACO – The Copperas Cove Bulldawgs track and field team kicked off their 2016 campaign with a first-place finish with 141 points at the Waco ISD Invitational at Paul Tyson Field in Waco.
Leading the way for the Bulldawgs were seniors Marcus Brumfield, Shamad Lomax and Antonio Lealiiee, along with juniors Kylan Herrera and Eric Cain.
Brumfield took first place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.14 seconds and helped the 4x100-meter relay team to first-place finish with a time of 42.37, along with teammates Lomax, Lealiiee and Herrera. Brumfield, Lomax and Herrera teamed up with junior Eric Cain for a second-place finish in the 4x200 relay. Their time of 1:30.94 was just .42 behind winners Killeen Shoemaker.
