Campbell Park along the Hancock Springs was filled with sounds of dogs barking, children playing as survivors hit the walking trails to help fight cancer in the inaugural Relay for Life Lampasas County’s Bark in the Park, raising more than $400 through donations and sponsorships to relay teams. More than 30 dogs and 100 human counterparts participated in the event that was cut short due to rains that washed the area midway through the event. Ken Marshall and Uli Pickens of Cove made the trek to Lampasas to participate in the event walking in honor of Marshall’s brother Mike who lost his battle with cancer 20 years ago.
