Second-chance points guide Ellison past Cove 75-59

 

Not much went right for the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs in their District 12-6A opener at home against Ellison on Friday.

 

Ellison (9-6, 1-0 in District 12-6A) took full advantage of second-chance opportunities to open up a 22-5 lead after eight minutes and balloon that lead to 21 by halftime, 36-15, on their way to a dominant 75-59 win.

 

“We took one on the chin tonight,” said Cove head coach Billy White Jr. “They definitely hit us in the mouth. We just have to go on this break, regroup and come back ready to go. Every night it’s going to be a dogfight just like that.”
