Friends and family hold inaugural Great Water Balloon Fight

By LYNETTE SOWELL Cove Leader-Press What started as a simple plan for a few familiesand friends at Highland Park, morphed into a  public water balloon fight of Texas-size proportions on Sunday afternoon.Covite Ray Payne and his wife, Rebecca, headed up the Great Water Balloon Fight of 2015. It took a bit of planning, as there is no water on site at the park, and those who came to the event  rought already-filled water balloons, which numbered in the thousands. Ray said walking through H-E-B and seeing the water balloon setup became the inspiration for the Great Water Balloon Fight.
