Copperas Cove ISD has recently announced the launch of the Golden Dawgs program for CCISD area residents age 60 and older.
The “Golden Dawgs” will kick off on Tuesday. Jan. 28, with a free breakfast at 8:30 a.m. in the Board Room at the CCISD Service & Training Center at 408 S. Main St.
During this event, the goals of the group will be discussed, including collecting ideas from prospective members.
The program will include events such as town halls and information sessions, to engagement visits and volunteer opportunities for senior citizens.
Also, the district offers its Golden Passport, which includes free general admission to all athletic events sponsored by Copperas Cove ISD, free admission to all band concerts, choir performances and drama presentations sponsored by Copperas Cove ISD. The only exception is for dinners held to raise funds.
The Golden Passport also includes free admission to all educational events sponsored by Copperas Cove ISD at which a fee might be charged.
As with performances, this excludes events where meals are served and for which there is a fee, such as PTA or booster club dinners.
Golden Passport holders will also receive 25% savings on all tickets purchased for CCISD sponsored Lea Ledger Fine Arts activities.
A background check is required by state law for all volunteers.
