The Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce announced on Wednesday that four new directors have been appointed to its board, Robert “Bob” Crouch, Marcus Fuller, Emily Urquidez, and Shameria “Ann” Davis.
The new directors fill one vacant seat and replace three outgoing Board members: Charlotte Heinze, who served the Chamber since 2009, as well as Oscar Domino and Clinton Brown.
“We are grateful to Charlotte, Oscar, and Clinton for their service and contributions to the Chamber,” said Beth Galick-Carney, President/CEO of the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce. “Charlotte’s 15 years of commitment have been particularly impactful, and we thank all three for helping to strengthen our organization.”
With the addition of the new board members at the start of the year, the chamber is also preparing for a membership drive to grow its numbers. The chamber is offering memberships with various tiers for individuals and businesses, with a range of benefits.
This week, teams of captains gathered with chamber leaders on Tuesday as they prepare to recruit area businesses to join. At the end of the month, the teams will gather to learn more about the new features for the chamber and then the team members will assist new and returning members with joining the chamber.
Likewise, the chamber is putting the finishing touches on its app, Discover Cove, which is anticipated to be launched by the end of the month. Being included in the app is one of the new membership features.
The chamber is also preparing for its annual banquet on Saturday, January 25th. The themed event – Back to the 80s – Is set to be held at the Copperas Cove Civic Center from 6-8 p.m.
The evening includes a casino night, a 360 photo booth, a best 80s outfit contest, and a wide variety of door prizes and raffles. On the menu are beef tips, grilled chicken, garlic mashed potatoes and salad. Membership is not required to attend the event. Individual tickets are $65, with sponsorships available. The chamber will also be distributing its annual business and individual awards.
Galick-Carney said they hope to have the app ready to launch the night of the banquet.
