Morning and Noon clubs celebrate one nation under God

Select members of the Copperas Cove High School choir performed an acapella rendition of My Country Tis of Thee during the weekly meeting before Father Chris Downey of Holy Family Catholic Church shared a message with the club. Father Chris shared parts of his message from a book written by Russell Kirk that describes the beliefs and institutions that have nurtured the American soul and commonwealth of the United States. The Roots of American Order is a massive study that is in many respects the culmination of Kirk’s life’s work. Tracing the concept of order from ancient times to nineteenth century America, Kirk highlights those thinkers and ages have provided the United States with her institutions.
