Elementary student councils learn leadership skills

Leadership skills form at an early age and elementary students from throughout the area assembled together for formal training to develop their abilities. Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association hosts student council training throughout the state every fall and gathered student council officers and their advisors from area schools in Killeen last week. Carolyn Solomon, a TEPSA representative who has 16 years of experience working with students and their advisors in Texas, taught the young leaders how to plan a meeting, set an agenda, and how to conduct meetings according to parliamentary procedures.
