The Texas Department of Transportation continues its work on State Highway 9, on the first overpass and connector just north of the Business and U.S. 190 split.
The repairs and maintenance project has consisted of removing and replacing unsuitable material as well as addressing the embankment issue at each end of the bridge.
“Repairs continue on the pavement structure and subgrade on the northwest end of the bridge,” said Kenneth Roberts, with TxDOT’s Waco district. “Once complete on that end, repairs will continue on the southeast end. Estimated completion is late summer of this year.”
The project began on March 19 of this year.
This particular section of road has been restricted to a single lane and will remain so until the project is completed.
TTG Utilities, LP, of Gatesville is completing the just over $650,000 project.
TxDOT cautions motorists to continue to be alert for construction personnel and equipment in the work areas.
