Spring Fest kicks off at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, at Copperas Cove City Park, with a City of Copperas Cove birthday celebration, at Fester’s House.
The festival runs from 2-7 p.m. Admission is $5 per carload, and $1 for walk-ins. An ATM will be on site at the park for Spring Fest guests.
A festival highlight will be live entertainment provided by the 1st Cav Rock Band who will take the stage in the afternoon, and Memphis Kee, performing country rock from 5-7 p.m.
The 1st Cavalry Division Band marches in parades throughout Central Texas and beyond, but one of their specialties is providing live entertainment onstage as well. They bring the brass, guitars, and percussion with their high-energy show that is always a crowd-pleaser.
Memphis Kee is an Austin-based band that started in 2020 and has shown no signs of letting up, performing their brand of “shred dirt” music, with blues and soul overtones.
A lineup of food trucks will be on hand, along with a People’s Choice award for Best Food Truck.
In addition to food trucks, there will be several beer and wine vendors for the 21-and-up crowd to enjoy, to include Bold Republic Brewing Company, Fire Base Brewing Company, Southern Roots Brewing Company, Fiesta Winery, Texas Legato Winery, as well as Copperas Cove Parks and Recreation also as an option.
Spring Fest also features market vendors along with a Kid Zone, with the Tap Tap Art bus on site, for kids to get crafty. There will also be free bounce houses and games. The Petting Zoo is the only kids’ activity that is a separate cost.
Spring Fest 2023 is sponsored by United Portable Buildings, Ashley Furniture, John D Bowen/Precision Value Homes, Copperas Cove Leader-Press, VFW Post 8577, and Elements of Architecture.
On Friday night, the Spring Fest Softball Tournament starts at 6:30 p.m. and continues through the festival on Saturday.
