Residents fill streets for winter wonderland

Even before 3:30 came around on Saturday, crowds gathered along Avenue D, some standing two or three deep besides the road, for Copperas Cove’s annual Christmas parade. Many who assembled also visited the 20th Krist Kindl Markt downtown, enjoying Saturday afternoon temperatures that climbed into the mid 70s. The Armed Services YMCA along with the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce sponsored the event, which had the theme “White Christmas.” The Copperas Cove High School cheerlearders along with the Copperettes dance team traveled the route, some passing out candy to children watching the parade pass by.
