Optimist Club hosting membership drive

Optimist International is sponsoring a membership drive contest for the month of May. The Optimist Club of the Greater Copperas Cove Area is striving to increase membership significantlythis month, so has waived the $15 enrollment fee this month. Applications are available at the Optimist Thrift Store, 332 Cove Terrace Shopping Center. Completed applications can be delivered to the store or mailed to P.O. Box 1508, Copperas Cove, TX 76522. The Optimist Club focuses on helping children and supports McLane Children’s Hospital, Boys & Girls Club, Miracle Network,Blue Santa, local children with cancer, and child abuse prevention among others. The main source of income is the Optimist Club Thrift Store which accepts donations and resells the items. It also works with other organizations, Cove House. schools and churches to provide free items from the store to those in need. Please contact Triss Lemire, manager at the store, for information about donating items or if you know of someone who needs help. The Optimist Club meets once a month, usually on the first Thursday of the month, at 12 noon, at the Hills of Cove Golf Course. Lunch is available by individual orders if desired.
