Oakalla VFD holding pancake supper, auction

Oakalla Volunteer Fire Department is hosting an all-you-can-eat pancake supper and auction on Saturday, June 19, from 5-8 p.m., at the department, located at 29111 F.M. 963 in Oakalla.

The cost is $7 for adults and $5 for kids.

In addition to the meal, the auction will feature items donated by individuals and local businesses. The auction starts at 7 p.m.

The department raises funds for needed equipment, vehicle purchase, maintenance and repair, and more recently has raised funds to help open its second station, located in Briggs.

Typically, the department holds an all-you-can-eat fish fry this time of year, but this time, they decided to have a pancake supper instead.

Oakalla VFD provides service to not only Burnet County, but supports Lampasas County and even areas of Coryell County as needed.

To get to Oakalla, take F.M. 2657 south from Copperas Cove, for approximately 10 miles, then watch for signs for F.M. 963 on the right. After making a right on F.M. 963, you can see the department facilities on the left.
