Two fire engines and two ambulances showed up at Juniper Circle on Sunday afternoon, but it wasn’t for an emergency call.
Instead, Copperas Cove Fire Department personnel were responding to an invitation in the Morse Valley subdivision that was both to thank them for their service as well as to mark the 15-year anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon. During the attack, more than 3,000 civilians and more than 400 first responders lost their lives.
Chuck and Anne Holley, longtime Covites and founders of the Copperas Cove Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, sent out invitations to their neighbors in the subdivision, as well as to the Copperas Cove police and fire departments, along with Mayor Frank Seffrood, who attended.
