Hundreds of runners showed up to run at the 12th Annual Jackrabbit Run4Hope 5K and 10K held Saturday morning at Ogletree Gap.
There were 280 runners at this year’s event. There was a $20 race fee for registration before April 29. The fee increased to $25 after April 29. Sponsors of the race were: H-E-B Plus, Chick-fil-A, CenTex Racing Series, Carlson Law Firm, Road ID and First Response Medical Training, which also set up a First Aid station. Police and fire alumni were volunteering at the water stations. In addition to sponsoring the race, H-E=B also provided fruit for the runners, while Chick-Fil-A set up the mile marker signs, according to Gina Castillo, membership coordinator of the Chamber of Commerce. Castillo estimated that there were close to 30 volunteers that helped with the race.
