Mayfest 5k Color Run set for Saturday

The Copperas Cove Noon Exchange Club is hosting the 4th annual Mayfest 5K Color Run on Saturday at Ogletree Gap Park.
Color run registration is $35 online or $40 the day of the event. The first 100 registrants receive a T-shirt and a race bib. Children 10 and under are free.
Same-day registration begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, with the race starting at 9 a.m.
This year’s color run is now a chip timed event, with awards to be given to the fast runner in each age/gender group.
In addition to the color run, activities will continue in the park after the run to include a car show until 2 p.m., food trucks on site, a free photo booth, music and more. Additionally, the Central Texas College Culinary Arts Department will have a tent set up at the event, said Dennis Ayres with the Noon Exchange Club and event coordinator.
The club will also be selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a 55” Smart TV, a $300 Family Pack of Schlitterbahn water park tickets, one year of Cinergy movie tickets, $100 Visa Card, Samsung sound bar and more.

The event raises funds to benefit groups that help with child abuse prevention. The Noon Exchange Club has helps fund programs like AWARE Central Texas, Hope Pregnancy Center, Communities in Schools as well as Cove House.
