At least 100 gathered yesterday to commemorate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. with the 18th annual commemorative Unity Walk.
Hosted by Bible Way Missionary Baptist Church, the nearly one-mile walk’s participants included members from area churches and local residents, along with Mayor Frank Seffrood.
The walk began at First Step Child Care Center on F.M. 116 South. As walkers traveled along, the group sang and some carried signs honoring Martin Luther King Jr. After arriving at the church, walkers prepared for a service with a brief time of prayer in the parking lot.
