Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful is inviting the community to join them on Saturday, Marhc 19, from 10 a.m. until noon for Spring Eco Fling 2022.
The free event at Copperas Cove City Park will feature hands-on, make-and-take craft activities focused on sustainability and recycling.
The setup will be in front of Fester’s House beside the duck pond.
Projects include windchimes to be made out of recycled materials, folded paper planters, and plastic planters for kids to decorate. There will also be face painting, performers, and a DJ.
Activities include making “garbage pizza” as well as bird feeders and recycling crayons.
A highlight for the event is the recycling fashion show at 11:30 a.m., with models sporting clothes made from at least 80 percent recycled and upcycled items taking to the Fester’s House stage.
The recycling fashion show is overseen by 2021 Teen Miss Five Hills Angelica Torres, who has been advancing her cause of Heart Health. Torres, who has a heart condition known as supraventricular tachycardia, was the youngest patient in the country to receive a loop heart monitor embedded in her chest.
