Keep Copperas Cove beautiful is looking for a few volunteers willing to roll up their sleeves to help during KCCB’s fall litter pickup, set for Saturday from 10-11:30 a.m.
Volunteers should meet in the parking lot at the Copperas Cove Public Library located at 501 S. Main
St. All necessary supplies will be provided to include bags and garbage pickers.
The event will help take care at least one litter “hot spot” within the city, as identified by KCCB’s executive director, Silvia Rhoads. She said two areas might be cleaned, but that all depends on the number of volunteers who attend.
“The weather is supposed to be beautiful and sunny on Saturday,” said Rhoads. “It is the giving season and what better thing can there be then your precious time? If you would like to give back to our community, please come out this Saturday at 10 am. to help with our litter cleanup.”
Volunteers of all ages are invited. At past cleanups, more than 40 volunteers have assembled to help pick up litter at different locations in the city.
Free coffee and doughnuts will be provided while instructions are given and cleanup teams gather at the library, after which groups will head out to pick up trash.
Volunteers will also be given a free “Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful” volunteer t-shirt.
