GUMC to hold annual Blessing of the Animals
Special to the Leader-Press
Grace United Methodist Church in Copperas Cove will host its annual Blessing of the Animals community event on October 8 at 10:30 a.m. at 101 West Avenue F.
“At Grace United Methodist Church, we believe that every creature, great and small, deserves a special moment of recognition and love, plus, we just like bringing dogs to church once a year.
We invite you, your family, and your beloved animal companions, or a photo of your animals, to celebrate God’s boundless love, care, and deep affection for all creation,” said Pastor Brad Slaton.
The event starts at 10:30 a.m. inside the fellowship hall with a worship service and individual animal blessings, then moves outside for additional pet-centric activities.
Some on-site activities include a dog obstacle course, food trucks, specialty vendors, a pumpkin patch, and a photo booth.
Bring a folding chair to enjoy the outside activities.
“As we celebrate our furry friends, we’re also lending a paw to those in need. We’ll be collecting pet food donations for the Copperas Cove Animal Shelter,” said Slaton.
To ensure everyone’s comfort and safety, please bring your animals on a leash or in a crate.
