Future teachers from Copperas Cove grab State -honors in Lubbock

LUBBOCK—Capturing a state office, qualifying for the national contest and winning scholarship money were just three ways that Copperas Cove High School students who plan to be future teachers set the standard this past weekend. The CCHS Chapter of the Texas Association of Future Educators had 22 students compete at the Teach Tomorrow Summit at Texas Tech University in Lubbock where it was elected to the office of state secretary and hosted a break out session focusing on teacher appreciation.TAFE Chapter President Ashley Prax competed in the TAFE Moment andreceived first place and a $1,000 scholarship to Texas Tech. Prax presented her winning speech at the awards ceremony in front of 2,500 students from around the state. She advances to the national contest April 23-26 in Arlington, Virginia.
